Fashion's Night Out 2011!
For my first ever Fashion's Night Out, I was in Seattle. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect; I knew it wasn't going to be the grandeur as it would be in New York, London, Paris, or Milan, but it was still on in Seattle and that made me curious. There were three places that were particular points of interest: Nordstrom, Barneys New York, and H&M.
Let's start with H&M- To be honest I was disappointed with H&M. I heard there was going to be a drawing for a $200 H&M gift card, which would also enter you to win the grand prize: a trip to New York for an exclusive viewing of the Versace for H&M collection. But apparently the Seattle store missed the memo. No one in the store seemed to even know what Fashion's Night Out was! It was a sad moment in Seattle H&M history.
Next was Barneys New York- The setup at Barneys was cool, there was a DJ and some tasty looking hors d'œuvres, but there wasn't much energy. Don't get me wrong, it was fun to see, but there could've been more.
And finally Nordstrom- Nordstrom was definitely the place to be for Fashion's Night Out in Seattle! There was a great DJ, delicious drinks, and above all a fashionable crowd. There were many in-store prize giveaways, there were numerous free makeup tutorials, and there was even a place where you could try on designer accessories and model them for the camera! I was elated to find out that they were selling the "FNO" t-shirts; needless to say I jumped at that opportunity. All in all, it was a glorious, fashion-forward night to remember!
All of the above images in this post were taken by me.
I want to give a special thanks to my friend Rhema, for braving the perilous journey with me. :)

Thoughts on the upcoming seasons
I've come to the conclusion for the reason behind my S/S 2011 review fallout; I was trying too hard to be like a one man Style.com. It became too laborious a task, to review all the shows, and post pictures, and videos, and whatnot. It was taking the fun out of the whole process.
So, from now on, I'll be focusing on the shows that I find particularly interesting, writing shorter reviews, and only posting looks that I feel stand out the most. I've also been toying around with the idea of finding fashionable people in the streets and taking their pictures (kind of like a mixture of The Sartorialist and Tommy Ton's work). Thoughts?

Lady Gaga: Edge of Glory!
I love how cut-back and minimal Gaga's latest video is! It's good to have these simplified videos betwixt all of the over-the-top magnificence that is Lady Gaga. I felt the makeup was modest (for Gaga), the two-toned wig was gorgeous, and that the singular vintage Versace outfit was an appropriate reprieve from Judas' fashion-palooza.
The song is dedicated to Gaga's late grandfather, Joseph Anthony Germanotta.

Lady Gaga's Newest Music Video: Judas!
I loved the entire video. Powerful imagery, opulent wardrobe(s), and a ferociously ground-shaking song; the makings of another Gaga masterpiece! :D

I feel that McQueen would be proud
I love the iconic McQueen touches; from the cinched waist, to the high collar, the spirit of the enfant terrible remains immortalized in his work. HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge looked positively stunning!

A Note to My Potential Readers
So, the past few days have become increasingly hectic. I was with my family, to some this equates to fun and relaxation; to myself, this equates to fun and NO FASHION REVIEWS (I'm still on New York Fashion Week and we're already well into London)! Regrettably, my solution is that my forthcoming reviews will have be severely cut down (we're talking bullet-pointed overviews people, and maybe a few pictures) until I can catch up. Once this occurs, I will most certainly resume my full-length reviews.
DISCLAIMER TO ANY FAMILY MEMBER WHO MAY BE READING MY BLOG: It's not that I don't enjoy your company. It's just severely difficult to work on reviews whilst gallivanting around with you.

Computer Troubles :/
What better time to have computer/internet troubles? New York Fashion Week! Yes, my computer's been very, very naughty. :( But he seems to be cooperating for the time being. However, tonight I have plans with some friends so I won't be able to review any shows until tomorrow. Sorry all who may be reading my blog.

My First Post!
Yay, for my first post! I'm so very excited to start this blog. For the past few seasons, I've wanted to start a blog (to share my views on the happenings in the fashion world and whatnot) but have been so busy with life and all it's complexities. However, now is the time (and just in time for New York Fashion Week S/S 2011) to create! I hope you will like it (and please feel free to comment). Here we go! :)
