I see the Christian Siriano woman this season sauntering down a pier in the South of France (or perhaps Spain, somewhere Mediterranean). With a warmth of colors like vermillion and sulfur yellow (interspersed with pieces in white, blue, and gray), the true Siriano acolyte will be well-suited for a summer near the beach. The styling was spot on this season, with chic heels that matched in color with the rest of the collection's palate, geometric clutches, and sunglasses that followed the less-is-more trend. In seasons past, Christian has received some flak from the fashion community, coming from Project Runway and whatnot. This collection (and the fact that his retail sales are through the roof) is proof positive that Mr. Siriano can craft clothes that show creative restraint, while still producing tinges of his avant-garde panache.

I can honestly say I'm not a fan of his stuff. I know he's quirky. I've seen it in his designs before. I just look at these and think "I'm not a fan, but I know he can do better." They just seem rather bland for him.
